Religious Pastoral

Our Religious Pastoral care is a non-denominational Christian Pastoral care. It is biblically based but takes a person-centred approach because we honour and respect the individuality and the uniqueness of every person. Like the Biblical quotations below, we would like to invite those who want to find meaning or make sense of their life-changing circumstances through the word of God.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ”(Matthew 11:28-30)

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. (Isaiah 55:1)

For believers, it is to affirm the Christian belief of God’s presence with us wherever we are and in whatever circumstances we find ourselves and to use scripture to encourage and support you where appropriate. Hear the words of the Prophet Isaiah 43:1b-2.

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. When you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you pass through the fire, you will not be burned.

To assert that Jesus’ life compellingly confirms that suffering has a great purpose. Therefore, all of life, good and bad, has purpose. God is at work in everything that is going on in your life. (Romans 8:28). It is to help Christians find hope in times of sadness, sorrow, crisis of faith and to bounce back stronger than before. It is to offer Christians the opportunity to explore their faith regardless of whether they attend church or not. To explore with scripture some of the burning questions they may have and to pray with them. We use scripture in the pastoral conversation not as tool to evangelize but to provide a Christian worldview on the same issues that all humans experience and to reassure them that their God is still with them, and to pray for and with them.
